Krakow: Banksy Museum with hotel pick up

About Muzeum

On 14 December, the Banksy Museum will open in Kraków’s Kazimierz district, at 21 Berka Joselewicza Street . The museum presents the work of the most enigmatic artist of our time and offers an extraordinary multimedia street art experience.

In the post-industrial interiors of the 1886 Plated, Silver and Metal Works factory of Marcin Jarra (an associate of Norblin), over 150 Banksy works have been collected in an area of over a thousand square metres.

Viewers will be led through a succession of cities whose walls featured Banksy’s graffiti: Bristol, London, Lowestoft, Paris, Calais, New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Naples, Venice, Borodyanka, Gostomel, Irpien, Kiev, Bethlehem…. In this way, without having to travel all over the world, visitors have the opportunity to get to know Banksy’s works, including those that no longer exist – most of the murals have disappeared: stolen, painted over, vandalised, dismantled and sold… The tour will be accompanied by a soundtrack, giving a sense of urban movement. Visitors will also have the opportunity to view films about the mysterious artist and his work.

The creator of the Krakow exhibition, Hazis Vardar, has already organised similar events, based on a combination of art and theatre, in the centres of Paris, Brussels, Barcelona, Lisbon and Prague. They were visited by more than a million people. The success was so great that the Paris exhibition has already turned into a permanent Banksy museum.

Hazis Vardar is the originator and realiser of the exhibitions.

Hazis Vardar is an art manager and experienced theatre director. His work started in 1994 at ‘The Comic’Art’ in Brussels. He then ran many theatres in France and Belgium. In 2008, he bought and successfully runs the legendary ‘Le Palace’ in Paris. Currently, Hazis manages seven thriving theatres.

In 2009, Hazis became interested in the visual arts, particularly the work of Bangsy. In September 2018, he decided to create a gallery in the heart of Paris with the aim of organising an exhibition of his work there. Hazis’ theatrical and directorial experience, combined with the specificity of street art, made it possible to offer the public a unique experience, unheard of in typical exhibitions. This unusual endeavour, on the borderline between theatre and visual arts, was called ‘Banksy’s World’ and was initially intended to last only six months. Thanks to overwhelming public interest and positive reviews from experts, the exhibition has become a permanent attraction in Paris, now known as the Banksy Museum.
